Velvet's Garbo, Anima, Compas 360 and Compas 180 are constructed around a core of natural fibres, to produce a sound (and feel to the player) which cannot be distinguished from pure gut strings. Windings, whether with copper or a synthetic material, reinforce the strings' warmth and richness of tone. 	Velvet Blue New from Velvet, "the Blue" has a synthetic core with equal tension (25kg) on each string. It has great articulation and sustain and projects well. Great for jazz players but also it can be bowed similar to the Anima. The price makes this string very accessible.		Price:

	Velvet Garbo The strings of choice for the jazz bassist. The solid core highlights the particular frequencies which enable the acoustic instrument to hold its own - even against a drum set. The sound is especially distinctive for the lower-middle frequency range, offering rich harmonics that are clear and assertive with the familiar "kick" as the note begins. 	Velvet Compas 180 Classical string designed for orchestral tuning. The use of up-to-date textile fibres makes the strings particularly elastic, allowing (the instrument) increased amplitude of vibration, and producing a full, rich, open sound.
