Ken Poggioli has been a permanent member of The Queensland Orchestra since 1985. He is a graduate of The Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Griffith University.

He studied with François Rabbath and holds a teaching Diploma from the Institut International de Contrebasse in Paris.

Ken teaches at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music – Griffith University, the National Bass Workshop in Adelaide and Education Queensland’s MOST program for outstanding secondary school students.

In 1997 he established the young bass program at the Conservatorium and he tutors the bass sections of the Queensland Youth Orchestra.
